AmCham Meets with Senator Wyden and Deputy Chief of Mission to Ireland

AmCham was delighted to welcome the Senator Ron Wyden, head of Oregon’s congressional delegation and ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee to a business roundtable, kindly hosted by KPMG. Senator Wyden was joined by the Deputy Chief of Mission to Ireland, Jill E. Hutchings.

Opportunities for continued growth in the overall US-Ireland relationship were discussed, with a particular focus on the areas for future business growth and collaboration between Ireland and Oregon.

We discussed the current geopolitical climate and how we can continue to grow and enhance the US-Ireland partnership amid global trade uncertainty.

We also discussed the key challenges for business in both Ireland and the US, including energy security and supply, educational cooperation, meeting skills gaps, and enhancing the research, development, and innovation eco-system.
