Message regarding Covid-19 outbreak

As a national representative body, the welfare and safety of our American Chamber members, team, stakeholders, and the wider community is our first priority. Today, as the Taoiseach said, changes in the way we operate are necessary to curtail the spread of Covid-19.

I would like to update you on four key measures the American Chamber is taking to comply with government guidelines and minimise the spread of the virus, while also helping to support our members during this time:

The American Chamber team will remain fully available and continue to work with our members as well as key stakeholders virtually during this period through contact details listed on the website. We would appreciate member requests for meetings be proposed on the basis that these can take place virtually or via telephone.

All face-to-face American Chamber Leadership Programmes & Networks (e.g. Leaders of Impact; Emerging Leaders & Mandate leadership Programme) are postponed until 29 March . Alternative virtual check-in’s are already in the process of being scheduled where appropriate.

Planned face to face American Chamber Advocacy Taskforces & Group meetings will be converted to virtual/conference calls until 29 March.

AmCham will adhere to Government guidance and the latest public health advice In relation to planning beyond 29 March. Events in the diary for April and May are currently being planned as normal however we will update members as appropriate.

We are taking these measures In line with the incredible efforts our member companies are making to safeguard employee health and wellbeing, and to prevent any unnecessary risks or spread to the wider community. We believe as the Taoiseach said, that this is a time when we need to look out for each other in the widest sense. We will issue further guidance and updates via the Chamber’s weekly FDI Focus ezine.
