Emerging Leaders Hackathon 2019
7 - 9 February 2019
DCU St. Patrick's Campus, Dublin
Applications are now closed
The AmCham Hackathon 2019 will gather 100 emerging leaders from our member companies to form multi-disciplinary, cross-sector teams to hack a solution to our #WorldofTalent Challenge:
To create an innovative, practical and applicable solution that enhances Ireland as a great place to live and work – in more distributed, international, remote and dynamic environments - in the office, at home, and on the move.
Hosted in partnership with the DCU Ryan Academy and DCU Business School, the Hackathon provides a fantastic opportunity for nominated emerging leaders to hothouse their leadership skills, to network in a fun, yet competitive, environment and to create innovative solutions.
Kicking off at 2pm on Thursday 7 February, participants will have 2.5 days to pitch ideas, form teams, navigate the design thinking process and pitch a solution to the judging panel at 2pm on Saturday 9 February.
The winning team will raise the coveted #AmChamHackers perpetual trophy belt and have an opportunity to bring their idea to life with the support of the Future Factory at Dublin Airport.
Successful applicants are expected to participate fully in the programme. There is no fee to participate. Participants cover their own travel and related expenses.
This is a great opportunity for our next generation leaders – no matter their skills background as a Hackathon needs all kinds of participants (it is not just for techies!) – to participate in a great personal and professional development opportunity. Step back from the day job for 3 days, network and learn!
Application deadline is 5pm GMT on Thursday 6 December 2018. Places will be allocated and successful applicants will be notified by email by Friday 21 December 2018.
Who Should Apply?
The Chamber seeks emerging leaders who have high potential for future development, are advanced enough in their careers to bring good experience to the Hackathon, and are at the stage where this will be an excellent learning and networking opportunity.
Emerging Leaders Journey Programme
Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to join a two-year journey of activity beginning with the flagship Hackathon and continuing with masterclasses, networking events and bespoke engagements. This programme focuses on building on the core leadership skills developed during the Hackathon, connecting with the wider US - Irish business relationship, exposing emerging leaders to the Chambers' leadership network and expanding their professional network.
