Following a successful week on the West Coast last week a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland have participated in a series of engagements in Washington DC. This included events as part of the AmChams in Europe USA conference and functions specific to the American Chamber Ireland. Chief Executive, Mark Redmond and Public Affairs Director, Brian Cotter, have been in the US capital to promote the Irish-US and EU-US relationships.

The creative minds behind some of Ireland's greatest innovations were gathered in Dublin last night for the inaugural US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards. The Awards, jointly presented by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and Royal Irish Academy, recognise excellence in research innovation that has taken place on the island of Ireland as a result of US foreign direct investment.
Ireland must double its spending on research, development & innovation (RDI) to 3% of GDP within the next decade according to a new report released today by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland. Ireland's Innovation Pathway: Attracting Investment; Driving Economic Growth articulates a vision for Ireland's RDI environment that will retain and attract US foreign direct investment.
A major new campaign ‘World of Talent in Ireland’ was today launched by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and IDA Ireland. The campaign will initially target Ireland’s global graduate community, highlighting abroad the career opportunities that now exist in Ireland, with a view to attracting talent here.
The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has welcomed the commitment within the Spring Statement to maintain Ireland's 12.5% corporate tax rate. The rate, which was described as a ‘red line issue' by Minister Noonan, has been a cornerstone of Ireland's enterprise policy and is partly responsible for attracting over 700 US companies to create 130,000 jobs here.
