The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has welcomed the publication today of the Government’s Energy White Paper which sets out a path for a low carbon energy future.
Commenting on the publication Mark Redmond, Chief Executive of the American Chamber said “This White Paper provides a welcome framework for energy policy over the next 15 years. Its emphasis on transitioning Ireland away from a reliance on fossil fuels while maintaining a focus on cost competitiveness and secure energy supply is welcome. American companies in Ireland are already playing an essential part in driving energy efficiency and sustainability practices. Our members will welcome the commitments in the White Paper to minimise public policy-related costs, the recognition of the need for a stable regulatory environment to encourage investment, the commitment to enhancing research on energy challenges and the ambition to encourage innovation in energy technologies.
