The contribution of US companies in Ireland goes far beyond the economic impact. US companies are also responsible for significant social transformation in their local communities and nationally by providing innovative and inclusive social impact programmes. Helping to build a fairer and more inclusive Ireland, with equality of opportunity for all, is a core value of our members and our Chamber.
In Ireland, US companies are represented on the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation’s National CSR Stakeholder Forum
, which brings together representatives of the business sector, the public sector and other key stakeholders and the wider community to promote responsible and sustainable business practices. The Forum is developing a Work Programme to implement and support the 17 actions contained in the National Plan on CSR 2017-2020.
The commitment by our companies globally to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
underpins what is happening in Ireland. Many US multinationals are mapping and aligning their CSR strategies to these goals.
