Speaking following the US election result, American Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Mark Redmond said:
The American Chamber congratulates President- elect Donald Trump on the outcome of the US election.
As the voice of the 700 US companies in Ireland, the American Chamber looks forward to continuing the productive dialogue with the representatives of President-elect Trump’s new Administration that it has enjoyed with all previous US administrations over the Chamber’s 55 year history.
The two way US-Ireland business relationship now stands at an all-time high. Collectively US investment in Ireland amounts to $343bn and directly supports 140,000 jobs in Ireland. On the other side of the Atlantic, Irish companies directly employ roughly the same number, in all 50 states across the United States.
The US and the EU are the world’s largest trading partners. The Chamber is committed to supporting joint efforts to enhance that relationship and create more jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.
The American Chamber of Commerce is committed to ensuring that Ireland remains a key gateway to Europe and the global location of choice for US investment. The key attractions of Ireland as an investment destination - our talented workforce, our competitiveness and the certainty of our legislative framework are the reasons why US business investment has been so successful here over many decades.
