The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, the body that represent 700 U.S. companies employing 140,000 people in Ireland, has today welcomed the publication by the OECD of the final set of BEPS proposals.
A spokesperson said "The American Chamber is supportive of co-ordinated global efforts to enhance transparency in international taxation, including the OECD BEPS process. Ireland has been a fully active participant in the BEPS process throughout. The Government, through the publication of the International Tax Strategy in October 2014, has already provided certainty for investors on Ireland’s competitiveness in a post-BEPS environment.
"We welcome Ireland's ongoing commitment within its International Taxation Strategy to already high standards of transparency while remaining competitive for investment. As these final set of OECD proposals are implemented, it will remain important for Ireland to do so in a manner that further enhances the country's reputation globally."
