Government's Spring Statement

  • Release Date: 28/04/2015

The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has welcomed the commitment within the Spring Statement to maintain Ireland's 12.5% corporate tax rate. The rate, which was described as a ‘red line issue' by Minister Noonan, has been a cornerstone of Ireland's enterprise policy and is partly responsible for attracting over 700 US companies to create 130,000 jobs here.

The American Chamber also welcomed that the Statement indicated the Government's intention to reduce income taxes over the course of the next three budgets. This is particularly welcome as it signals a renewed ambition to encourage Irish emigrants to return home, which would be a welcome development for Ireland's economy and society as a whole.
