The President's Lunch 2015 will see the launch of our new report The Irish US Economic Relationship 2015 by Wall St. Economist Joseph Quinlan. Coming just a week before St. Patrick's Day when business in Ireland takes centre stage globally for several days, this report will provide a valuable insight into the scale of this relationship, and why Ireland has become the global location of choice for US investment.

Speakers

Joseph Quinlan, author of this report, will present its findings for the first time at the President's Lunch. The following week it will be the subject of an seminar in New York.

Eamonn Sinnott, the 2015 President of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland will be keynote speaker, making his first address as President. He will outline his ambitions for Ireland to continue to enhance its offering to US multinationals and build even stronger levels of investment.

On Thursday 26th March the AmCham RD&I working group will present an industry perspective on the purpose, capability and expected outcomes of each part of the RD&I (Research Development & Innovation) system in Ireland based on research undertaken through Chamber membership over the last year.

This meeting will explore the success to-date of the system and make an evaluation from an FDI perspective of the overall performance of the system while identifying the key areas for focus and improvement.

Featuring illustrative case studies drawn from member companies, in contrasting sectors, each of which will give an overview of their comparative sector situation analysis, looking at challenges and opportunities.

Without alignment and a shared commitment to an integrated process there can be no significant economic out come despite the value created at each stage and the morning will aim to set KPI's and outline a roadmap for success with the AmCham RD&I Network.

American Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner

Irish operations of US multinationals are global leaders in delivering innovation. This innovation can be seen in new products, in processes and in fostering partnerships with indigenous businesses and Institutions that also support innovation. In 2015 these innovations will be celebrated at our Inaugural Annual Dinner presented jointly by the Chamber and the Royal Irish Academy. The high profile event will culminate with a very special US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards Dinner on May 15. These awards are designed to highlight the best innovation that emerges from world class FDI located on the island of Ireland.

Three award categories will be judged by the Royal Irish Academy and recognise achievements for innovative research breakthroughs in:

(1) Irish operations of US multinationals
(2) Irish owned business with US FDI links
(3) Higher Education Institutes or Research Bodies that collaborate with US FDI.
