PayPal to create 1,000 new jobs
The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has welcomed today's news that PayPal, is to open a new European Operations Centre in Dundalk with the creation of 1,000 new jobs.
Speaking on the announcement, American Chamber Chief Executive, Joanne Richardson said, "Today's investment by PayPal in creating 1,000 new jobs, is a tremendous vote in confidence in the future of Ireland as an international gateway to Europe and the world." PayPal has been present in Ireland since 2003 and they, along with many other internet based companies, have been growing consistently. Ireland now has a strong track record as a world class location for born on the internet and we expect these positive investments to continue."

In 2011 US companies accounted for three quarters of all new IDA jobs, in what was a record year for FDI in Ireland."
