Prometric Announcement Welcomed

The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has welcomed today's news that Prometric, is to establish a major test development centre in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The investment will add new technologies and more than 100 jobs to the company's existing operations in Ireland.

Speaking at the announcement, American Chamber Chief Executive, Joanne Richardson said, "Prometric have been a valuable employer in Dublin since 2001, and it is extremely welcome that they have created further opportunities with over 100 jobs in Dundalk. This is a high calibre investment, that shows Ireland is very much part of the company's long term and strategic plans. This announcement is a further welcome endorsement in Ireland as a location for Foreign Direct Investment, and the entire team at Prometric should be congratulated for their success.

"Prometric is the latest of many US companies that have announced new employment opportunities in Ireland this year," stated Richardson. "The 600 US companies here continue to play a vital role in Ireland's economy, employing 100,000 directly, and have a total investment in Ireland of $190 billion."
