Citi Congratulated by Chamber

The American Chamber of Commerce Ireland today congratulated Citi on their ongoing growth with the creation of 250 jobs in the next year at its offices in Dublin and Waterford.

Speaking on the announcement, Chamber Chief Executive Joanne Richardson said, "Citi is one of the most established multinationals in the country, employing 2,200 in Dublin and Waterford. The company celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, and the fact that it continues to grow in Ireland is a significant vote of confidence in Ireland as a location of Foreign Direct Investment, specifically in the services sector."

"Today's announcement by Citi builds on the already positive growth of Ireland's multinational community throughout 2010, which has seen over 4,000 jobs created by US companies.  This year the Foreign Direct Investment sector has continued to perform strongly and exert positive influences on the Irish economy as a whole," Ms. Richardson stated.  "Citi are to be congratulated for their continuing success in Ireland and the American Chamber wishes them every success in this current initiative."
