American Chamber welcomes 400 new jobs from Stream Global Services

"The announcement that US firm Stream Global Services is to expand its Dublin office, with the creation of up to 400 jobs, is a significant vote of confidence in Ireland as a location for Foreign Direct Investment," the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has said. In spite of difficult economic conditions, Ireland remains a location of choice for US multinationals looking to create and expand operations in Europe.

Speaking on the announcement, American Chamber Chief Executive Joanne Richardson said "the decision by Stream Global Services is a testament to the educated and skilled workforce in Ireland. Ireland offers a readily available pool of talent, global market access. However to continue to avail of these opportunities Ireland must continue to invest in enhancing its telecommunications infrastructure. In particular the Chamber is keen to see the speedy rollout nationwide of Next Generation Broadband services to enhance the attractiveness of Ireland to the growing number of services firms who chose to locate here.

The US remains the biggest investor in Ireland with more than 600 companies nationwide directly employing close to 100,000 people.
