American Chamber welcomes Aer Arann to Shannon

Mr. Bill Doherty, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Mid West Region today welcomed the announcement by Aer Arann that it is to operate 4 new routes from Shannon saying it "is a welcome boost for the Airport and the region".

"The addition of 4 routes from Shannon to Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol will in particular boost tourism to the Shannon region and will increase passenger traffic through the airport. These new routes, together with the decision by Continental to increase the number of flights on its year round Shannon/Newark service and that of Delta to extend its Shannon/JFK service throughout the year will greatly increase connectivity to the region.

"In today's world connectivity is the lifeblood to doing business. The presence of over 100 US multinational companies in the west, mid-west and south region highlights the importance of enhanced infrastructure at Shannon to retaining and growing this investment", he said.
