Summer Events Programme Launched
Innovation In People Practises
The HR Working Group is running two Innovation in People Practice Seminars. The first of which takes place on April 28th in Microsoft, Sandyford. Discussing the theme of Restructuring & Change Management the attendees will receive presentations for Right Management, Northern Trust, Ballina Beverages (Coca Cola), and Eversheds O'Donnell Sweeney. The second seminar on June 30th is being hosted by Boston Scientific in Cork and under the broad theme of Employee Engagement in Turbulent Times will seek to answer the question ‘Are your employees engaged and why should you care.'
Independence Day Business Lunch
One of the high points of the Chambers event calendar is always the Independence Day Business Lunch. Taking place this year on July 2nd at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin, the lunch will be addressed by Professor Robert Schmuhl the inaugural Walter H. Annenberg-Edmund P. Joyce Chair in American Studies and Journalism and Director of the John W. Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics & Democracy. A respected teacher and author on the subjects of American communications, political culture, and contemporary national affairs, he has also written for The Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and The Washington Post. Spring Business Lunch
Prior to this the Chamber is running a Spring Business Lunch with a theme of ‘The Transatlantic Economy' The Transatlantic Economy generates close to $4.3 trillion in total commercial sales and employs up to 14 million on both sides of the Atlantic. The Lunch will present a valuable insight into this economic relationship with experts from both sides of the Atlantic sharing their views. Joseph Quinlan, Fellow at the Centre for Transatlantic Relations of John Hopkins University will give his prospective on the transatlantic economy and its strategic importance to the United States, Ireland, Europe and the World. While Barry O'Leary, Chief Executive of the IDA Ireland will outline their ambitious goals set out in the IDA's ‘Horizon 2020' strategy which articulates their view of articulates their view of the next decade's significant future changes. July 4th Family Picnic
The US Executive Circle Independence Day picnic will once again be hosted by Ambassador Daniel M. Rooney in his residence in the Phoenix Park, on Sunday July 4th. This is a social event for members of the US Executive Circle and their families. The Circle is a network of senior US executives based in Ireland more info
Ryder Cup Golf Tournament
The 4th Biennial US -V- Europe Golf Classic will take place on September 22nd in Powerscourt Golf Club, Enniskerry. The event which is run to coincide with the Ryder Cup has always been a successful day out for individual or teams who wish to play and compete for adopted continent, with a dinner for all participants after the conclusion more info
