Innovation

The talented 150,000 people working for our member companies are creating products and services that save and enhance people’s lives around the world. The innovations happening in Ireland thanks to our member companies are changing how the world lives and works and our global quality of life. These innovations are happening not just within our member companies but also within Irish Higher Education Institutes, Research centre and SME’s that our members collaborate with.

We believe that Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) is fundamental to growing the Irish economy.

Achieving a global leadership position will ‘future-proof’ our economy. By 2025 a successful strategy should support a US FDI base of over 1,000 companies and double the current investment.

Ireland's Innovation Pathway

In May 2015 we launched our report outlining our strategic recommendations to boost RD&I in Ireland. This included recommendations to:

  • Double Ireland’s RDI investment to 3% of GDP through a new investment proposition
  • Use RD&I investment as a pathway to growth by demonstrating global leadership
